How many hours, days, perhaps weeks have you spent looking at freelance writing opportunities on the web. Most say those words, "great exposure" meaning there is no pay. Or how about the "become partners". That one is prevalent. What that means is you write and someone else makes money. It gets to a point where you look at all these job offers but you are so numb you really don't read them or have any hope in finding something that will make you a fair wage for your work.

My Google CPC index shows an amazing 316,000 search impressions in just the last month for "freelance writing jobs". That is an incredible number showing writers need all the information they can get to stand above the crowd of writers willing to work for less than minimum wage. This is what I just read. A content site wants qualified professional writer to write 400 articles. The articles must be well written with necessary research accomplished. The writer also must be able to meet deadlines. The pay, $2.50 per article.
How about the one that wants forty, 500 word articles a week and pays $1.50 for each. The webmaster even has the nerve to ask for samples as he only accepts quality writers. He also states he will own copyright to all articles. Is he serious!

Isn't a mere ten bucks worth finding out what really works and where the jobs really are?  I promise you this book tells you the truth about freelance writing and how to start making money as a professional writer.  
 
Over the years, I have been fortunate to garner enough work to make my writing a strong source of personal income. That doesn't mean I have all the answers. Writing you see is like a temporary job. You only make money while the job exists and then it is over and you are unemployed again.
In this mini-book of 25,000 words, I tell you my journey and what I have found works and also tell you what I found to be a waste of time and in some cases money.
 
I have written several thousand newspaper and internet columns over the years. In fact a Google of "mike fak" will show 24,000 hits for my work. They include my being listed in the national columnist pool for Gatehouse Media, a newspaper conglomerate, although I haven't written for Gatehouse in several months. I have authored four personal books, helped as a ghost/coach on more than twenty others and have a dozen clients in various stages of manuscript assistance and consulting. Well, that's pretty much it. I am offering to tell you what I know for what I believe is a modest sum and it is now up to you to decide if my offer is fair.
